Hi Everyone,
I am a student from Canberra Australia and am lucky enough to study for 1 semester in Calgary as an exchange student.
I have never been to Canada before, and the only snow experience I have had are day skiing trips to the Australian Alps. Where I live in Canberra, the winter is relatively cold for Australia, lows are about -4 or -5.
However, I realise that a Calgary winter is very different! I have a few questions about clothing. Is a down insulated jacket a necessity in the fall and winter in Calgary? On average, what would I have to wear during september and october?
What about snow boots?
I have never lived everyday life in the snow. How much does it effect life, in terms of movement and travel. Someone told me that its so cold that you cant have a shower in the morning and then go outside within half an hour. Is this true?
